After a brilliant display, R. M. Aminu from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Golf Club has emerged overall winner of the Kaduna Golf Club (KGC) Centenary Tournament, with 63 Nett.
In the male category of the tournament which ended on Saturday December 18, 2021, Abu Ahmed with 69 Nett, Joel Bazinta (70 Nett) and Andrew Chechet (71 Nett) finished Best Nett, Runner-up Nett and Second Runner-up Nett respectively. All winners from Kaduna Golf Club.
Linus Ishaya also from Kaduna Golf Club, finished Best Gross after playing 71, in the male category.
In the Ladies (Guest) category, Amina Wilfred from IBB Golf Club Abuja won the prize for Best Gross after playing 82.
Saadatu Barau claimed Best Nett with 67 Nett in that category.
For the Best Nett KGC ladies category, Vera Inginopwa played 67 to emerge winner.
Maryam Abdulsalam played 79 to settle for Runner-up in that category, while Justina Gideon played 89 to emerge Best Gross.
In the male veterans category, KGC dominated as Ibrahim K. Yabuwat played 65 to emerge Best Nett.
Deque Amego played 68 to claim Runner-up, while Sani Junaid played 71 to settle for Second Runner-up.
Hassan Adamu played 83 to emerge Best Gross in that category.
In the Ladies veteran category, Maryam Hassan Biu played 106 to win the Best Nett, while Grace Yanet played 98 to claim Best Gross.
For the special prizes, Abdulkareem Ibrahim from KGC and Amina Wilfred of IBB won the Longest Drive on Hole 18 for make and female categories respectively.
Greg Bature claimed the prize for Nearest-to-pin on Hole 6.
The prizes and trophies presentation climaxed the week-long activities marking the 100th year of the club’s existence.
Other activities held at the closing ceremony included book launch on KGC 1921 and awards and recognition.
