According to Nhyira FM, Asante Kotoko SC head coach Mariano Barreto Jeronimo will leave the club at the end of the season.

The Portuguese coach has decided to step down as head coach of the Porcupine Warriors when the league concludes.

The 2020/2021 season is down to two games, with Bechem United coming up next week and Elmina Sharks FC coming up in a fortnight.

Since losing 1-0 to arch rivals Hearts of Oak last Saturday, which gave them the Premiership title lead, Barreto has come under fire.

Hearts lead the league table with 57 points after 32 rounds, while Kotoko sits in second place with 54 points.

The 64-year-old took over in March 2021, after Maxwell Konadu, who was ousted in December 2020 after only five games.
