Bawumia Wants NAPO; As Running Mate For 2024

It is said that, “Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation.”

It is in view of this philosophy Ghana’s Vice President, H. E. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia seem to have taken the winners’ step in getting more prepared to take the mantle from his current boss, Nana Addo, from 2024.

Information reaching this paper disclose Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh NAPO would be chosen by Veep Dr Mahamadu Bawumia as running mate, should the NPP vote him (Bawumia)to lead the party in 2024 General Elections.

The vice president is rumored to be in close door talks with the Manhyia South Member of Parliament about his place in the next NPP Government if he’s given the nod to lead them as flagbearer.

Mintah.net took to some streets in Accra to engage the masses for their remarks if Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh was their vice president at the time we spoke to them.

Although, some people did not know NAPO that well they eulogized his commitment to work as an MP and his party NPP for roads and infrastructure in just a little over six years reign.

A group of young men who spoke to mintah.net in the early hours of Monday, December 12,2022 stated Dr NAPO is very calm, responsible gentleman, up-to-task and very cordial and will be a perfect match for Dr. Bawumia.

Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh is a medical doctor by profession and has represented the people the Manhyia South in the Ashanti Region in Parliament, since 2008, when he was first elected to the House.

He was appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo on January 10 2017 to serve as Minister for Education of Ghana.

Hon NAPO served in that capacity for 4 years till 6 January 2021 when the tenure of office of the president and his ministers ended.

He contributed enormously to the educational sector of Ghana as a Minister of Education; such as improving infrastructure and promoting vocational and technical education (TVET).

He was a co proponent of government’s flagship programme ”FREE SHS”.

Dr Mathew Opoku is a member of the Defense and Interior Committee and also a member of the Appointments Committee.
