BREAKING: Former Black Stars Coach Mariano Barreto Appointed As Asante Kotoko New Head Coach

Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have finally appointed a new head coach for the second half of the season.

Former Black Stars head coach, Mariano Barreto has been named Kotoko head coach as he replaces interim coach, Johnson Smith.

Johnson Smith took over from Maxwell Konadu who was sacked by the Porcupine Warriors following his poor start to the season.

Barretto becomes the third coach of the Porcupine Warriors this season.

Kotoko announced the deal on Friday morning on their various social media platforms.

Barreto was Black Stars Head Coach between 2003 and 2004, and was in charge of Ghana’s Black Meteors, during their last Olympic campaign in 2004.
