Boxer Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku has asserted that he would be given the position of Inspector General of Police (IGP) should Mahama become president.

Bukom, speaking on Asempa FM, said that despite never having been a police officer, he is still qualified for the position.

He asserted that being an IGP does not involve much paperwork, therefore he is fit to carry out the day-to-day activities.

Asked what makes him confident Mahama would choose him, Bukom said it's no secret that he is a staunch supporter of the opposition NDC, often endorsing the policies of it's flagbearer, John Mahama. Therefore, as a reward, he would be given the position of IGP.

"The role does not need much paperwork; the ultimate objective is to ensure peace and orderliness and stability. The fact that I have not been to the police does not mean I'm not qualified," Bukom asserted.

In other news, Mahama called for peace before, during, and after the 2024 elections.

He said that the NDC party would not jeopardize the peace Ghana enjoys and enjoined all Ghanaians to show solidarity and unity.

"As we approach the elections, we should never forget that peace is fragile. Like an egg, once it is cracked, it cannot be put together again without the scars showing. We must never again unleash fatal violence on our people at polling stations, peacefully expressing their democratic rights to choose their leaders," he wrote on Facebook.
