Chirano Gold Mines Ltd (CGML), an Asante Gold Company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ing. Stephen Asante Yamoah (SKY) as its new General Manager.

With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the mining industry, including more than 12 years in management roles, Ing. Yamoah brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the team.

Ing. Yamoah’s journey with CGML began in February 2023 when he joined as the Mining Manager. His exceptional leadership skills and ability to navigate complex challenges were evident from the start, leading to his role as Acting General Manager. This promotion to General Manager is a testament to his progressive leadership and his adeptness in handling the intricacies of our operational environment.

He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mining engineering from the prestigious University of Mines and Technology (UMaT). Additionally, he holds the Mine Manager Certificate from the Minerals Commission of Ghana, a testament to his expertise and qualifications.

Ing. Yamoah’s contributions extend beyond his technical prowess. He served as the Chairman of the Technical Committee and a Governing Board Member of the Tertiary Education Fund of the Ghana Chamber of Mines until June 2023.

His professional affiliations include being a Fellow of the West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum, as well as a recognized Professional Engineer with the Ghana Institution of Engineering. He is also a valued member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
