The Wenchi High Court has thrown out a parliamentary election petition brought before it by the National Democratic Congress in (NDC) Techiman South.

The court of competent jurisdiction in the verdict Wednesday, November 30 2022, fined the opposition NDC party GH¢100,000.

The petition was filed by the 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for the party, Christopher Beyere Baasongti against the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), and Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the declared winner.

The opposition party alleged there were various irregularities in the collation of results and subsequent declarations.

The party believed the peoples’ mandate was stolen for the NPP candidate by the EC: for which reason they went to court.
