Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia delivered the keynote address at a ceremony marking the successful completion of skills training for 10,000 youth under the Youth Employment Agency's (YEA) Skills Training program. The event took place in Techiman, Bono East Region.

The initiative, part of the government's broader strategy to empower the youth, is aimed at providing employable skills to Ghanaian youth. Dr. Bawumia highlighted this training program as a crucial step towards equipping young Ghanaians with the necessary knowledge and skills to create opportunities and businesses for themselves and others.

In his address, Dr. Bawumia linked the YEA program with other ongoing efforts, such as the Kayayei Empowerment Programme and the Ghana Enterprises Agency's training and support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He emphasized the NPP government's commitment to fostering an environment where youth can thrive and contribute to the country's economic growth.

This latest effort to provide employable skills to Ghanaian youth joins other ongoing efforts such as the Kayayei Empowerment Programme and the training and provision of start-up support for MSMEs by the Ghana Enterprises Agency and others, Dr. Bawumia stated.

The Vice President reaffirmed the government's determination to ensure that the youth are equipped with the requisite skills to seize opportunities and build successful businesses, driving sustainable economic development in Ghana.
