EC Announces Ballot Paper Shortages in Volta Region, Plans Emergency Printing
The Electoral Commission (EC) has reported a shortage of ballot papers in five
constituencies within the Volta Region. The affected constituencies are Keta,
Ketu North, Ho Central, Hohoe, and Ho West.
In a statement on Thursday, November 28, the EC acknowledged the issue and
outlined plans to address it. “The Electoral Commission has identified some
shortfalls on Presidential and Parliamentary ballot papers for the Keta, Ketu North,
Ho Central, Hohoe, and Ho West constituencies in the Volta Region,” the
statement said.
The Commission has arranged for additional ballot papers to be printed by Acts
Commercials in Accra. Political parties and independent candidates have been
invited to observe the process to ensure transparency.
“Political parties and independent presidential candidates are to provide two
representatives each to observe the printing process on Friday, 29th November
2024, at 10:00 am at the premises of Acts Commercials Printing House, Accra,”
the statement added.
A detailed list of the shortfalls has been provided to stakeholders. The EC has
reassured Ghanaians that it is taking the necessary steps to ensure a smooth
and credible election process.
