Ex-President Kufuor Hasn’t Invited 98 NPP MPs To A Meeting – Spokeperson Reveals

by Isaac Mintah

The Senior Aide and Spokesperson for Ex-President Kufour, Dr. Kwabena Osei Adubofuor, has denied claims that he called a meeting with over 100 New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmakers who are calling for the dismissal of the Finance Minister in an effort to convince them to change their position.

The former president’s administration has stated that it fiercely opposes the growing pattern of misinformation that cunningly attempts to involve the previous president in topics on which he has not spoken.

The statement reads

The former President is as concerned as, perhaps more so than, others for the wellbeing and stability of Ghana, and in his own way is doing whatever he can for the nation to get on top of the seemingly intractable difficulties currently engulfing our society. He would be the last person to play petty and uninformed politics in the circumstances.

At any time that Mr. Kufuor deems it fit to comment publicly on national issues, he would not hesitate to do so. But he would definitely not be drawn in on other people’s terms and agenda.
