Ghana Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program Skills for Job Initiative

Ghana's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP) was launched in 2017 to address the country's unemployment crisis.

The skills for job project aims to equip 300,000 young Ghanaians with practical skills in various trade areas, enhancing their employability and entrepreneurship prospects.

This comprehensive program tackles the pressing issues of unemployment and  rural-urban migration by providing vocational training in areas like soap making, beading, baking and make-up artistry. NEIP through this initiative seeks to create jobs, stimulate income generation and promote sustainable livelihoods all over Ghana. The training sessions  take place across all Municipal, Metropolitan and District offices in the country.

To achieve the aim for which this opportunity was created, NEIP has outlined a strategic action plan which includes; mobilising beneficiaries, identifying and engaging trainers, providing logistical support, and offering regulatory complications assistance. In addition to this, selected beneficiaries will receive starter-packs to kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys after successfully completing their training sessions.

The project's key deliverables include; a partnership framework with the ministry of finance, skills training manuals, orientation for trainers, and a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework.

One of the program's key strengths is its focus on offering   participants the opportunity to engage in hands-on training sessions, mentorship programs, and networking events providing them with tools and connections needed to turn their ideas into reality. The initiative has already shown promising results with numerous success stories from previous beneficiaries.

Building on NEIP's seven-year legacy of supporting entrepreneurs across Ghana, the skills for job program is a step in the right direction towards creating an entrepreneurial nation.
