I Feel The Pain Of The Economic Hardship In My Soul – Ken Ofori Atta

by Isaac Mintah

It’s been a long time since citizens wanted to hear from Ken Ofori Atta, the minister of finance after many people suggested he step down as minister.

Finally, the minister speaks, and he apologized to the government and Ghana for the current economic hardship we are all going through. Hence, he made it known that he was feeling the pain.

Since the NPP took power, everything we have sought to do has been to make the lives of the people better. At the start of 2020, we never imagined that the global pandemic would inflict such pain and suffering upon the Ghanaian people. The shock to our system has been hard, and the impact on our livelihoods has been severe. I feel the stress of running a business, but it is the strength and perseverance of the Ghanaian people that inspire me and my colleagues every morning. That is what gives me the strength to press on. In my soul, I feel the pain of economic hardship.
