"I'm officially changing my name to Vim lady"-Afia Pokua
Due to the recent controversy surrounding a namesake and media personality, Afia Pokua, who made offensive remarks about the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Manhyia Palace on Onua TV's Biribi Gyegye Wo show, which caused widespread outrage, Ghanaian broadcaster Afia Pokua, also known as Vim Lady, has revealed that she is officially changing her name to Vim Lady.
Vim Lady told Graphic Showbiz that she and her family have been greatly impacted by the public uproar. She added that many people thought she was the source of the comments, which led to a barrage of insults and obscenities directed at her on social media.

She is changing her name to ensure better identification in the future in order to prevent more misunderstandings and safeguard herself from similar circumstances.
“Since I heard of that Manhyia case, it has been traumatising for me because many assumed it was me. Initially, I was not bothered until the insults and curses started coming in droves. “My mother was even nearly attacked by a group of older women who thought it was her daughter who said things about Manhyia. She called me, panicking.
“I really felt betrayed that after spending years branding the name Afia Pokua, I would be associated with something like this.
“ And because of this very issue, till now, whenever I post something on Facebook, people still insult me and add ‘This is how you landed before Manhyia and you are fooling again”, she added.
