Mahama Assembles Team to Tackle Corruption and Recover Stolen Funds
President-elect John Dramani Mahama is already taking steps to fulfill his promise to tackle corruption. A dedicated team has been set up to look into corruption cases and reclaim misused funds.
The initiative, called "Operation Recover All Loot" (ORAL), is aimed
at ensuring accountability for corrupt practices. It was one of Mahama’s key
promises during the 2024 campaign, and now he’s making it happen.

A statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the Mahama
Transition Team, explained the purpose of the initiative. It said,
“Anti-corruption, with Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) as a major plank,
formed a core part of H.E. John Mahama’s policy platform in the 2024 campaign,
and he intends to hit the ground running on these commitments.”

The echo of fighting corruption has been resounding through Ghana of late, and
Mahama's recent move underscores his commitment to tackling the issue head-on
and with this in mind, Ghanaians have their fingers crossed.
