Votes, not prophecies, decide elections- Atta Akyea

Samuel Atta Atta Akyea chastised the opposition for putting their faith in supernatural interventions rather than offering concrete, doable ideas for the nation's future.
The MP also made fun of a prophet who, according to him, had attacked former President John Mahama but was now announcing the victory of the NDC.

He cast doubt on the veracity of such predictions, arguing that they were misleading and driven by politics. In closing, Atta Akyea reminded the people of Ghana that although religious leaders are entitled to their views, democracy is ultimately determined by the decisions made by the electorate. In the approaching elections, he urged the people to make educated choices based on policies rather than spiritual guidance.
Akyea, the Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa South Constituency, has attacked the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying the party has become disconnected from political reality and is depending too much on spiritual gatherings for support.
Speaking in Asiakwa while on the running mate tour for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Atta Akyea asserted that the NDC had moved away from its historic political foundation and was now finding comfort in religious prophecies.
Religious leaders had recently predicted that the NDC will win the 2024 elections. Atta Akyea denied these prophecies, calling them human opinions rather than heavenly revelations. He emphasized that elections are won by the people's will, not by spiritual declarations, and he exhorted the populace to have faith in the democratic process.
"Elections are determined by the people’s votes, not by the words of prophets. The democratic process remains the legitimate way to choose our leaders," he stated.
