We Are Printing Notices Of Poll, Not Ballot Papers - EC Boss
The Electoral Commissioner has clarified rumors of the printing of ballot papers for the December Election when the voters' register still has some deficits.
According to Jean Adukwei Mensa, the electoral commissioner of Ghana, what they are printing at the moment are notices of polls and not ballot papers.
In a statement, the EC boss stated that the actual printing of the ballot papers will start at a later stage and not any moment from now since there are a lot of important procedures to go through before this is done. She went on to explain that they will have to provide ballot statistics to all stakeholders which includes political parties, candidates for the election, and the designated printing houses.
“As has always been the case, the Commission will provide ballot statistics to Candidates, Political Parties, and all Printing Houses before the printing of ballot papers begins,” the EC stated, reaffirming its commitment to uphold a transparent, free, and fair electoral process.
Jean Adukwei Mensa further urged the general public keep their confidence and trust in him as they would deliver to the expectation of the people. She also encouraged Ghanaians to desist from believing false news that some people create just to cause confusion to dent the image and values of their office.
